Day 4

Day 4 - A Song That Makes You Sad
I suppose this one is fitting for today. The weather is bad. I've had a headache for to days. There's no choir. I don't have a job. I need a car. I am completely exhausted. AND I cut my thumb while chopping a carrot for dinner. :P
This is a beautiful song but it makes me very sad...

Day 2

Day 2 - Your least favorite song.

This is sooo much easier.... :P I really hate that song by Miley Cyrus, Climb because whenever I hear it it goes through my head all day long and I don't like Before He Cheats by Carrie Underwood. Really? You carve your name into his leather seats? Now he'll just call the police and tell them that his crazy ex wrecked his car....

But my least favorite song is that Lady Ga Ga song Poker Face...... Why? Just why? I do not understand why that woman is so famous. Because she is one of the scariest things to walk the earth?

I am not going to post the video of it here because first of all I am not going to go looking for it on Youtube, second, I would never want to be responsible for someone else listening to it, and thirdly, I do NOT want that on my blog. :P

Spaghetti and Things

So...  Here I am.  12:30 AM sitting at the dining room table by myself with my hot coffee next to me and Radiohead playing on my headphones.  I am a night owl.

I am very disappointed!  I ordered Alex O'Donnell and the 40 Cyber Thieves off of Amazon earlier this week and it was supposed to come today.  Which it did not.

Oh well...  Hopefully tomorrow.  :)

I am completely in love with Regina Doman's books though.  I own all of the others, have read them about 15 times apiece, and have highlighted and noted all of my favorite parts.  She's the person who inspired my to write my own book.  (Which I have not finished...)

Anyhow...  The reason I started this post is to put up some pictures I took of spaghetti making!  Let's not get sidetracked...

Spaghetti is not my favorite dish, though it is easy to make.  My main problem with it is the canned tomatoes...  Something about canned tomatoes really bother me.  I think it may be the vitamin C, but whenever I have to handle them my fingers get all itchy and my hangnails sting so badly.  I have the same problem with oranges and pineapple.

BUT, I thought it could be interesting to try and take "artistic" pictures of spaghetti making and see how well I could do.  So here you are.

So obviously I have a bit of a ways to go to get my food pictures artistic.  It's a little hard in our badly lit kitchen.  One thing I discovered is that it's very hard to take pictures of things in pots...  They look a little odd.

But it is now quite late and I have been up past 2 every night for the past four nights.
So, goodnight!!!

Hi!

I'm not very good at starting posts...  :P  But, hello!

My name is Shayleen, I'm 19, and this is my blog!  :)

I plan to have this blog be a little more art focused.  We'll see if that works.  I'm interested in many many different types of art.  Drawing, sewing, cooking, writing, baking, singing, photography, dancing, beads, paper, etc...

I'm the type of person who can just have one project that I'm working on.  If I do I feel stifled and uninspired.  I grow to hate the project that I'm working on as well and end up never finishing it.  My dream would be to have an art studio filled with desks.  One for my jewelry making, one for my sewing machine and sewing stuff, one filled with pencils and papers and things for drawing.  And the walls would be covered in cut outs from magazines, drawings, art from other artists that inspire me. That would be my ideal place to work.

The most inspiring place that I have ever been to, or probably ever will go to, is Portland.  Portland is my favorite place on earth.  I believe that if I could get there at least once a month I would be a great artist.  :)  I love going there and seeing all the shops and interesting clothes and people.  I love going to the bead store and the paper store and getting pizza at Pizzicato.  Mmm....  Puttanesca pizza at Pizzicato is the most amazing thing ever.
So don't be surprised if there are regular posts filled with pictures of Portland!  :D

I am the oldest in a family with 10 kids.  I go to a Church that I adore and that is basically the center of my life.
I have not been able to find a job, I can't drive, and don't have much of a social life.
But I can get by with odd jobs for my Church and other various things, am pretty good with the bus, and have some of the most amazing friends a girl could ask for.  (and when I do get out and get to spend time with them we have a blast.)  :D

I'm teaching myself to draw anime.
Want to learn Japanese and Hindi.
Love singing very much and would die to take voice lessons again.
I really want a serger so I can make elaborate costumes and have my friends model them.
I am teaching myself to take decent pictures on a pretty cheap camera and then edit them.  You will see plenty of these.
Coffee is my life force.
I make jewelry.
I can bake and cook quite a few things but I'm hoping to try out some new things...  There's this fried mango and raspberry type dish that looks amazing...

Anyhow, I think you get the picture.  I'll be posting about anything and everything with a bit of life thrown in.

LOVE!
Shayleen
